Angling For Youth Development (AFYD)
AFYD is a personal and social development angling organisation working with young people. It was established in 2004 and has multiple projects operating across Scotland. It works to build young people's confidence and self esteem through education and coaching session across all three angling disciplines.
Location:Arundell Arms
The Arundell Arms combines hotel and restaurant facilities with a fishing school and country sport activities in the Lifton Valley, Devon. The hotel has been owned and run since 1961 by the Fox-Edwards family and employs two full-time fishing instructors. The hotel has 20 miles of its own water on the River Tamar and six of its tributaries.
Location:Assynt Angling Association
Along with the Assynt Crofters' Trust this is one of the two main trout angling providers in the Assynt area, based in Lochinver. The Assynt Angling Association is a collection of local land owners who have come together to provide access for visitors to hundreds of lochs in the Assynt area. The Assynt Angling Association is a collection of local landowners who have put all their fishing together under one umbrella. This includes the Assynt Foundation, Culag Community Woodland Trust, Assynt Angling Club and Assynt Estate waters.
Location:Borderlines
Borderlines is an angling engagement project established in 2005 to work throughout the Cumbria area, particularly in and round Carlisle. It provides activities in game, sea and course and works closely with local schools, youth offending teams and the local community to particularly engage those who are disadvantaged, disables or requiring rehabilitation.
Location:Cob House Fishery
Cob House is a mixed coarse and game fishery situated 3 miles from Worcester. Anglers can currently enjoy eight coarse fishing pools on day ticket, with four of the pools also available for match bookings. Cob House also has one large pool where anglers can fish for rainbow trout. In addition to the fishery, the site includes a modern cafe, fish farm, children's play area and farm animal enclosures.

GHOF Midlands (Birmingham) was established in 2002 and is run by Andy Walker. It is one of the many programmes that operates under the umbrella organisation Angling Unlimited.
Location:GHOF Liverpool
GHOF Liverpool is one of our key research site for exploring the theme of peer mentoring. The project is coordinated by Peter Henery and runs inunder youth intervention project Positive Future North Liverpool. One of the advantages of this relationship is access to the positive Futures building which serves as a drop in point for the young people in the area.

Location:Inclusion Through Angling

Inclusion Through Angling is a project operating in and around Cardiff. Although Wales is outside of our research remit, we felt it was important to visit the project as it was one of the few to be integrated into the education delivery system.
Location:North Third Trout Fishery
Located 5 miles from Stirling in Central Scotland, North Third is a trout fishery containing stocked rainbow trout and wild brown trout. The site is 120 acres and contains a variety of landscape features, including islands, cliffs and pine tree woodland. The fishery offers bank fishing and 23 two-man boats.
