GHOF Crewe

Dave Smith coordinates the GHOF scheme at Border Fisheries in Crewe. The project works with young people from local schools and particularly those with disabilities.

During our visit we had the opportunity to speak with teachers and young people about the impact of continued engagement in GHOF programmes. We also caught up again with the GHOF Crewe peer mentors at the Go Fishing Shows 2009 and 2010, where GHOF run the junior angling sessions.

One of the positive features of GHOF Crewe is the opportunity for young people to proceed to Bay Malton Angling Club at Border fishery, following GHOF intervention programmes. Dave Smith is also director of Coaching at the newly established National School of Angling at Cudmore Fishery. He also presents the GHOF skills series for Onlinefishing TV.
