GHOF Scotland
GHOF Scotland was established in 2009 and is co-ordinated by regional manager Jonathan Duncan. The project operates throughout Dumfries and Galloway delivering GHOF modules to local schools, providing more intensive 1 to 1 referrals, and hosting public taster days.
It is well supported by local Broom fishery (Annan), where much of the delivery occurs. Working with GHOF, the fishery has established a junior fishing club that provides a positive exit route for young people referred to the GHOF scheme.
Young people are currently involved in renovating one of the on site builds into a small club house. Simon Dey, the development officer for the project, is one of the new wave of UKCC level 2 Coaches introduced to Scotland this year, and the project works closely with the Angling Development Board of Scotland.
