Wakefield Angling Club
Wakefield Angling Club caters for anyone wishing to fish waters in and around the City of Wakefield, Yorkshire.
The waters where the club has a right to fish include lakes, ponds, canals and a local stretch of the River Calder. Fishing is largely for coarse fish species. Some of the club's still waters are ideal for disabled anglers and juniors.
The club is a member of the Angling Trust, and enters teams in the National and Regional Championships, as well as various leagues. The club has a strong junior membership, weekly summer matches for veterans and an emerging female section.
In 2009 the club had approximately 2,000 members.
